DARLING I LOVE YOU

"Darling I Love You" taken from David's 1992 album "Everybody Sunshine" was released in Europe as a 45rpm. Although this one was the B-side of "The Girl Forever", it did get its own released as well, with its B-side being "It Feels So Right". Like many releases that are only released as a 45, it is difficult to track down. However, you can still find the song itself on the "Everybody Sunshine" album, as well as digital download.

David's version was a hit in 1989, and would become a song that he would perform live for many years in concerts around the world. The single was released as a 45rpm with the B-side being "Is Everybody Happy (US Mix)". The song was also featured on the cd maxi single of "Je T'Aime Means I Love You". Additionally, it can be found on several compilation albums released over the years.

WIR ZWEI ALLEIN

David's 1993 album "You Are Everything" brought with it quite a few hits. The biggest of them being "Wir Zwei Allein" , or as listed on the album, "Wir Zwei Allein Heut Nacht". This song is a duet with European music star Gwen Obertuck. Gwen had several hits in Germany, and sand several songs for Disney before dueting with David. This beautiful song is a conversation between and father and his daughter discussing the mother's passing and the love they all share. The song was recorded by David and Gwen  in both German and in English as "A Star Looks Down Tonight". It was released as a maxi-cd single which included "A Star Looks Down Tonight", and "San Pedro's Children", as well as a 45rpm. David would also record the song in French, "Au Ciel, Une Etoile" with Nadge. He also discussed recording the song in Spanish, but no known recording has ever been released. David still performs this song in many of his live concerts around the world.

NIGHT ROCKER

In 1984, at the height of Knight Rider, David entered the recording studio with producer Joel Diamond, to record his first studio album "Night Rocker". The album's cover featured David holding an electric guitar on top of a Pontiac Trans-Am. This album would be made up of both rock songs and ballads, some of which would be featured on the Knight Rider episode, Let It Be Me.

With rock tracks like the title cut "Night Rocker", "the duet "Our First Night Together", & "No Way To Be In Love", David shows that even early on in his music career, he knew how to rock! There are also awesome tracks such as "No Way To Be In Love" and "Any Kind Of Love At All" which showcase David's vocals on ballads as well. David also delivers his version of the Jay & The Americans classic "She Cried", and the Hofftastic "Crazy On A Saturday Night".

Over the years, there have been several compilations and variations of this album released. Some latter version contain an added medley and extended blaster mix of "Night Rocker". This is the one that started it all!

YOU'RE NOT GUILTY

Well known DJ Peter Presta collaborated with David Hasselhoff to release the maxi-cd titled "You're Not Guilty". Released in Switzerland, this song again demonstrates David's awesome talent range, as this one, a club hit, is again a departure from what we're used to hearing David perform. There are 3 versions of the song on the cd, all worth checking out!

LIFE IS MOSTLY BEAUTIFUL WITH YOU

"Life Is Mostly Beautiful With You" was released as a 45rpm single by CBS records in 1987. The song appears on the album "Lovin' Feelings", as well as several other compilation cd's and LP's. The B-side of the record is "How Deep Is Your Love". This record was released in the Netherlands, and is extremely hard to get your hands on. However, the song is readily available on both cd and digital download around the world. This one is a country tune, in which David vocalizes his feelings towards the woman he is with. He has performed this one live in concert, as well as televised appearances.

CLOSE TO HEAVEN

Following the release of his 5th studio album "David" in 1991, the album "Close To Heaven" was released in Europe. This album would be a reworking of the "David" album, containing 10 of it's 12 original tracks. Missing from this one are "In Stereo", and " Feeling So High". "Close To Heaven" gets its title from one of the albums tracks, a ballad about a relationship coming to an end, but with the hope if it being saved. This album was released on LP, cd, and cassette on the White Records label. If you search hard enough, you may be able to track this one down!

AM I EVER GONNA SEE YOUR FACE AGAIN

Released in 2013, with proceeds of sales going to charity to benefit the songs writer and Australian music legend Doc Neeson of The Angels, the song "Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again" was released worldwide on iTunes. David and several musicians recorded this awesome track for Doc in just 2 takes. The songs added racy lyrics that normally accompany it in live performances were replaced with 'no way you'll touch our Doc'. David also performed this one live during his recent Australian tour, as well as with the late great Doc Neeson himself! Be sure to download this Hofftastic track today!

EVERYBODY SUNSHINE

David's 6th studio album, titled "Everybody Sunshine" was released in 1992 by Ariola/White Records. This album would be a departure from the style that we were used to from David's previous albums. It would also mark his final album produced by Jack White. There were 3 singles released from this album, as well as a number of tracks that David would go on to perform live throughout the world.

The title track "Everybody Sunshine", which would go on to become the Official Song of the 1993 International Youth Games, is feel good song, that David still performs live to this day. "The Girl Forever", the albums second single, has also been performed by David in concert, and on television. The album version is also a completely different studio recording than the single release. This song in particular, as well as a host of others from this album have a country theme. David adapts easily into the country genre and carries this song, as well as the album as a whole, beautifully.

The album does feature some ballads that are Hofftastic as well. The Laura Branigan cover "Foolish Lullaby", and "You're All I Want" are also 2 memorable tracks from this one. A standout to me, and my favorite song from David to this very day is the country style ballad "Somewhere In A Dream". Many of David's fans around the world share the same feeling on this tune, and are hoping to see it make a resurgence down the line.

With 12 tracks, including a remix of "Is Everybody Happy", this one is a must own for Hoff fans. It was originally released on LP, CD, and cassette.

THE BEST HOFF - 3 CD COLLECTION

Shortly after the release of his 2011 album "A Real Good Feeling", Ariola Music released what is, in my opinion, the best David Hasselhoff box set compilation to be released as of yet. The collection titled "The Best Hoff" is a 3 cd set containing lots of songs from David's earlier released on the Ariola label. Not only do we get the classic hits and singles like "Looking For Freedom", "Crazy For You", & "Do The Limbo Dance", but we also get tons of great album tracks that were not released as singles, and up until this point were very hard to track down if their albums were no longer available.

The first disc of the set contains the song "Somewhere In A Dream" from the "Everybody Sunshine" album, which had never before been released on any compilation. CALIFORNIA GIRL

Taken from his 2011 album "A Real Good Feeling", "California Girl" was the second single released by David from his comeback album. The single, released on the Ariola label features "Lonely Days & Lonely Nights", also from the album, as track 2. It is extremely rare to find, and was only available for a short time as a promo single. David sings about finding a girl, from anywhere in the world and bringing her back to America to be his California girl. The video was also released that same year, and was filmed on location in California. You can check out this song on either version of the album "A Real Good Feeling".

The David Hasselhoff & Laura Branigan duet "I Believe" was released in 1994 on the the Baywatch soundtrack, and as a cd single. UNCHAIN MY HEART

One song that David has loved performing live over the years has been the classic tune "Unchain My Heart". Written by Bobby Sharp and originally recorded by Ray Charles, David has performed this one over the past several decades at live shows and TV appearances. From the Freedom Tour '90, which can also be found on the "Live & Forever" dvd, to his live show at London's O2 arena in 2012, he leaves us with a memorable performance every time.

FLYING ON THE WINGS OF TENDERNESS

Released in 1989 on the "Looking For Freedom" album, the song "Flying On The Wings Of Tenderness" would go on to become a favorite not only of David's, but of his fans around the world. Written by Jack White and Mark Spiro in 1986 and recorded in Europe by Rouven under the title "Together", this awesome ballad is one that takes listeners on a journey of a couple in love. David's vocals shine in this one, and it's catchy melody will have you singing along during and after listening. Although the song was on the album "Looking For Freedom", and released as a 12" vinyl single, 45 rpm, and cassette single, this tune is available both digitally and on several compilation albums.

GIPSY GIRL

The Hoff's 1991 album "David" brought us quite a few hit singles. Among them is "Gipsy Girl". The song, written by Jack White & Charles Blackwell, is a dance track with a memorable melody that will have you moving to the beat from its opening chords. David sings of a mysterious Gipsy Girl that dances with him and romances him, only to vanish and leave him searching for her. David has performed this song live quite a bit as well, including an awesome performance from the 2011 Hoff Is Back Tour.

Originally written and released by the great Paul Anka in 1987, the song "Freedom For The World" was recorded by David for his 1990 album "Crazy For You". LONELY IS THE NIGHT

In 1989, David recorded the song "Lonely Is The Night", for his album "Looking For Freedom". Originally recorded by Air Supply in 1986, the song, written by Dianne Warren and Albert Hammond, is a love song that takes us on a journey of a man who is lost without the love of his woman. David brings this song to life and tells the story beautifully through his vocals. Although not released commercially as a single, there was a modified version of the Freedom album re-released as a 10 track album titled "Lonely Is The Night" in Europe. It was released on CD, LP, and cassette. David also performed this song live throughout the 90's, as well as on the live concert video "David Hasselhoff Live Freedom Tour '90".

David's Music In Knight Rider

A 1984 episode of Knight Rider titled “Let It Be Me”, prominently features David’s music. Throughout the episode which sees Michael and Stevie as the Group Class Action, several of David’s songs from the album Night Rocker are performed. The duets, “No Way To Be In Love” and “Our First Night Together” are used in music videos and live performances in the show. The shows title “Let It Be Me” is also taken from a track from the album. During the final live concert scene of the episode, you will also hear David perform the Jim Messina song “Stay The Night”, which was not released on Night Rocker, and has to this day never been released.

KNIGHT LOVER

In 1989, CBS Records released the compilation album "Knight Lover". The album was available on LP, CD, and cassette, and featured several of the tracks from David's first 2 records, "Night Rocker", and "Lovin' Feelings". The album kicks off with a song, made famous by Elvis Presley and Willie Nelson, "Always On My Mind", from "Lovin' Feelings". Following up with "She Cried" as track 2. These songs not only kick off the album, but set the tone for what is a great mix of music, covering both love songs and rock tunes.

The piano driven power ballad "No Words For Love" is another standout on this record. The song, referenced in the Knight Rider series, is a great showcase of David's vocal talents.

"Life Is Mostly Beautiful With You", another single, released as a 45rpm, is also included on the compilation. Classics like "Do You Love Me", "All The Right Moves", & "Go Away Little Girl", also make this an album you should be sure to add to your Hoff musical library, if you can get your hands on it!

A HIDDEN MUSICAL GEM

In 2009, David recorded 2 songs with South African star Patricia Lewis. One of those songs, is the awesome ballad, "As I Am". The song is currently available worldwide on iTunes. David opened the show with "Hot Shot City", "Freedom For The World", & "Miracle Of Love", which were all memorable performances. "Tight & Tighter", "Until The Last Teardrop Falls", "Where Was I", & "I Wanna Move To The Beat Of Your Heart", were also standouts from this awesome show. STILL MOVING TO THE BEAT OF YOUR HEART

On the 1990 album "Crazy For You", David recorded a song written by Dianne Warren titled " I Wanna Move To The Beat Of Your Heart". This Hofftastic rock song about passion, has been performed by David live in concert many many times over the years. The Hoff most recently performed this one at the Hoff Mania Festival in Gmunden, Austria, as well as in London at the O2 as seen in the video above. He has updated the tune to feature a new mix which includes samples of the Duran Duran classic "All She Wants Is".

DAVID HASSELHOFF MEMORABILIA

From Knight Rider, to Baywatch, to Broadway, and everywhere in between, David Hasselhoff has an amazing legacy and body of work. Throughout the years there have been several items made available involving David. Action figures, t-shirts, cars, pins, posters, hats, books, you name it. Many people around the world have some awesome pieces of David's merchandise, as well as music from his extensive music catalog. Feel free to post your collections below, or tell us what you have & what it means to you!

A Review of David Hasselhoff's 1987 album "Lovin' Feelings"

Production for David's second studio album, "Lovin' Feelings", began in 1986. This album would be a departure from the rock music that David's first album "Night Rocker" brought us, and would be a ballad/love song driven album. David traveled to Auckland, New Zealand for about a month to record this album with producers Glyn Tucker and Bruce Lynch. The original plan for the album was for it to be sold in the US market with a TV promotional tie-in. As always, the music business changes from day to day and this did not happen, however, the album itself did see a world wide release, and some of these songs are very memorable recordings from David's extensive music catalog.

This album starts off with David's version of The Young & The Restless (Nadia's Theme). The former Dr. Snapper Foster has in fact performed this song quite a bit, probably most notably on the Merv Griffen show, in a performance that you can still find to this day!

From there, David sings the hit song "Loving Arms". This tune, written by songwriter Tom Jans, and originally recorded by Dobie Gray and of course Elvis Presley, is a song that David performed live for several years including during his hugely successful Freedom Tour in 1990.

"Jean" from the film The Prime OF Jean Brodie, is the next track on this album. This beautifully performed song showcases David's amazing vocal talents and passion for the songs that he sings. It's a stand out for me on the album.

The next song up is the Spanish language classic "Historia De Un Amor". This along with the original song "Por Ti" are 2 songs David performs in Spanish on this album. These songs would be a precursor to a Spanish language album that David would begin work on years later in 2001 with producers Rudy Perez and the late Wade Hubbard. David also performed this song live on several tv programs, as well as a concert video released in 1987.

Another song made famous by Elvis Presley, as well as Willie Nelson, "Always On My Mind" is the next track on Lovin' Feelings. Another beautiful and passionate song by David, will have you singing along just seconds into the first verse.

Buddy Holly's hit song "True Love Always" follows "Always On My Mind", and is another amazing ballad that David hits out of the park. It's hard to listen to this one only once and not want to hit repeat, or move the needle back, depending on how your listening to this album, as it was released on CD, LP and cassette.

The Ben E. King classic "Stand By Me" is up next. David does a tremendous job with this one. This song was also on his set list during the Freedom Tour 1990.

Side B kicks off with the single "Life Is Mostly Beautiful With You". This is the first time we hear David jump into the world of Country music, and it is Hofftastic. Released as a 45 (7" vinyl) single in Europe, you'll be tapping your feet and singing along to this awesome track.

"Go Away Little Girl", "How Deep Is Your Love", & "After You" are songs previously recorded by the likes of Barry Gibb and Dionne Warwick. David performs memorable versions of all 3, which are still available on various compilation albums and soundtracks, as well as digital downloads.

David performs awesome versions of the hit songs "How Am I Supposed To Live Without You", & "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" to round out this Hofftastic album of love songs. All in all, David's second studio album is a must listen for those fans who may not have heard this one yet, or if you have, it's one you will want to revisit to experience David's passion for music, even back before The Hoff was known as The Hoff.

David Hasselhoff's latest studio album, "This Time Around"

David's latest studio album, This Time Around, was released in February of 2012. This album had been highly anticipated by David's fans for a few years, and it was well worth the wait, as it is heralded by many as his greatest album to date. Following his successful run on Broadway in the Frank Wildhorn musical Jekyll & Hyde, David wanted to release an album of songs from and in the style of Wildhorn's broadway hit. Around this time, David began working with award winning Spanish producer Rudy Perez, and the late Wade Hubbard on a Spanish language album, of which contained some songs from Jekyll & Hyde, including This Is The Moment, which was recorded as Hoy Es El Dia. Though some of these songs were recorded, they were unfortunately not released as an album. As time went by the concept of this album changed a bit, but never left David's heart. As fate would have it, it would soon be Frank Wildhorn himself who would collaborate with, and produce the album for David.

With Frank Wildhorn producing, David entered the recording studio to begin work on his most passionate musical venture to date. The album, originally titled "The Romantics", or "David Hasselhoff Sings The Romatincs" was recorded in Wildhorn's NY studio. The album contains several broadway hits, both solo and duets, as well as an original song written by Wildohorn and performed by David and his daughters Taylor Ann, and Hayley.

The album kicks off with an amazingly strong performance, and what David has called his favorite song on the album, the title track "This Time Around". David showcases his amazing vocal talents on this track, which at the time, had such meaningful lyrics, as it fit into his own personal goals and mindset. David has also performed this song live and on The Hoff Is Back Tour in 2011.

What I Did For Love, from A Chorus Line is the next track. David's performance of this song can be found on his 2011 dvd release The Hoff Is Back.

The 3rd song on the album, You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling, was originally released on David's 2004 album "David Hasselhoff Sings America" album. David decided to add this song to this album, as its sound and vibe fit into this selection perfectly.

From here we move on to the duet, Anything Can Happen. This beautiful song takes listeners on a journey of love through it's lyrics, and beautifully orchestrated music.

The next song, the Leslie Bricusse & Frank Wildhorn penned, Someone Like You, is a song from Jekyll & Hyde. David was the first male performer to record this song, which has always been sung by a female lead in the musical. David delivers a passionate performance, singing this from his perspective. Videos of  David can been found online of him performing this one live, including a performance on QVC UK.

Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head, from Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid, is up next. This one was also released on David's 2004 Sings America album, but was chosen to be added to This Time Around.

The standout Jekyll & Hyde hit "This Is The Moment" follows next. David has been performing this song, often times as a live show opener for many years. This is an amazing recording and one that David is very proud of.

From here, we have the duet "At Last" from the musical Dracula. This song is one of my favorites on the album, and the male lead vocals seem to have been written for David!

"Learning How To Dance Is Easy", "Loving You Keeps Me Alive", and "There Is Love" are phenomenal songs as well. David's powerful vocals stand out and flow perfectly with the amazing orchestral selections on these tunes.

My personal favorite on this album is "I Was Born To Love You". This is a beautiful duet, that upon hearing the demo, immediately stood out to me as not only my favorite on the album, but one of my favorite songs that David has recorded to date. David has also performed this song live in his Evening With David Hasselhoff show.

"If I Should Lose My Way", and "I'll Be Here With You" are up next. The latter being a beautiful duet featuring David's daughters, Taylor Ann & Hayley Hasselhoff".

The album concludes with a bonus track, one of David's all time favorites, "More Than Words Can Say". David co-wrote this one with the late Glenn Morrow, and the late Wade Hubbard for his 1997 album "Hooked On A Feeling". This one was also recorded in Spanish for the Spanish language album, and performed by David at the Vina Del Mar festival in 2001.

Fans of the Hoff agree that this is truly an amazing album that will live on for years to come! If you haven't picked this one up yet, its available via the Hoff Shop!
